About Us

Tenino, Washington, population 1,530, is a bedroom community located 26 minutes south of Olympia and about an hour and a half west of Mount Rainier National Park. Our city is rich in history, with the first settler to arrive in 1849.

We’re a close-knit community that supports quality education. Our rural District consists of two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The faculty and staff at all of our school sites are excellent motivators, who encourage and educate their students with enthusiasm. We have high expectations for our students, and they have always risen to the challenge. We truly believe that Tenino School District is a great place to learn and grow.

Mission Statement

Our District mission is to provide an educational environment that meets the diverse needs of each student and ensures the opportunity to develop individual potential and to become a competent and contributing member of society.
